While weddings can be a great deal of fun in case you’re not the one getting stayed with the bill, getting dressed in one can be moderately painful. What to wear at a wedding for men as a guest is an age old question mark that actually every man who has ever been welcomed to a wedding has confronted.
Weddings are quite annoying simply because they’re someplace between a night out on the town and a family gathering of course! You can’t escape with wearing what you would regularly wear on a weekend, but you also need to have an outfit that is a bit more fashionable. Right?
We can’t do much about the toasts and rituals, but we sure can help you with choosing the right suits and boots for the event.
Here are our tips on what to wear and what not to:
Keep It Casual:
In case you’re going to a beach wedding or a destination wedding, you can expect that it will be casual unless otherwise told. Regarding the matter of summer wedding clothing for men, that commonly means something like a couple of tanned chinos and a decent solid color shirt.
Formalwear can be headache for boys, all because a lot of the options in the market look really similar. You would prefer not to look just the same as a guy standing at the food stall. But then how will you manage to look different? Stress not, the way to having a thump out wedding outfit is in the details. Little accessories like cuff links, silk scarf, pocket square, bow-tie, etc., can give more grace to any outfit that is falling somewhat boring.
If wearing a suit is something you hate, then a subtle Kurta-pajama with a dupatta is the best decision. Ethnics are the most favored, because dancing would be much difficult otherwise. Try to get it in cotton or silk and dance hard.
The Indo-western men’s style worn with cigarette pants or dhoti-salwaar is super “in” this wedding season. Remember to buy them in solid colors like maroon, red-wine, navy-blue, etc. and to enhance your look, add some gel in your hair.
When in doubt, wear a 2 piece suit. A dim or cream shading with a tie is better for daytime weddings, while a darker shading suit is better for evening time. If you can’t become familiarized with a suit, then at least you should wear an easy going business clothing with an overcoat/waist coat with denims.
Fall weddings can be difficult to dress because the climate can be so fickle, but with these tips we’re damn sure that you’re no way going to look boring at all. So, enjoy to the fullest of colors, food and madness associated with an Indian wedding!
