Top Benefits of Curd For Your Hair and Skin

The kitchen is where the beauty secrets lie. Most of the home remedies that I have discussed earlier comes from our kitchen and today is yet another beauty benefit post, where I share the stunning properties of curd. Yes, curd or dahi not only makes chaat yummy (dreaming of dahi puri) but even works amazingly on our skin and hair.

If you haven’t tried curd on your skin or hair, then girl I bet on this, you should go right away and slather it over your skin as it is supercharged with benefits. It has lactic acid that protects skin from aging, dullness whereas the essential fats, minerals, and vitamins in curd help in boosting your hair texture and brings a glow to the skin. Before I go on and on with the tons of goodness of curd, let’s dive into what good it does to the skin and hair.

1.  Removes suntan:

The one thing that every girl gets worried during the summer is the nasty tan. However, if you want a quick fix, then count on the miracle curd that has lactic acid which will get your skin rid of tan. Apply 1 tablespoon of yogurt with besan and slather it over your face, hands and leave it to dry. Rinse and repeat this every two days.

2. Tightens the pores:

Oily skin ladies, add curd to your beauty arsenal and say bye bye to open pores. Yogurt has probiotics which will reduce the pore size as well prevent clogging of pores. Smear your skin with curd and leave it for 15 minutes. Repeat this daily till you notice a visible change.

3. Reduces signs of aging:

Don’t wait for the 30s to show your signs of aging, instead start working towards it right away. Curd has lactic acid which helps in regeneration of new skin cells, which in turn reduces the signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles. Mix curd with oats and apply it all over your face and neck, leave it to dry and then rinse. Do this thrice a week and notice a good change.

4. Treats frizzy hair:

Curd has a good amount of proteins, minerals, AHA that moisturizes your hair and makes it manageable. Forget the expensive hair products, apply yogurt on your manes and say goodbye to frizzy hair.

5. Supple and smoother skin:

Hate the way your skin turns dry? Then apply curd, rose water, and honey pack on your face and leave it for 20 minutes. I have tried this and I bet that this pack will leave your skin super soft and radiant.

6. Treats dandruff:

Be it summer or winter, dandruff often turns out to be a big trouble. So a quick fix to this would be a paste of 1 tablespoon curd with 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. Apply this on your hair and leave it for 30 minutes, make sure you wear a shower cap. Rinse and repeat this weekly twice. This DIY is sure to cure your hair of dandruff.

Before trying any of the above DIYs, kindly do a patch test and if there is any irritation on your skin, avoid them. Use curd on your skin and hair and notice fabulous changes in a short span of time
